Man stabbed with sword

A Tiffin man was stabbed in the chest with a sword early Saturday morning at a 400-block North Countyline Street residence in Fostoria.

Capt. Patrick Brooks of the Fostoria Police Department said Kenneth A. Myers III, 28, was stabbed after an argument erupted.

The alleged assailant, Adam W. Copsey, 27, of Fostoria, had grabbed a sword during the argument and charged at Myers, stabbing him in the left side of the chest.

The sword went through Myers’ left lung, nicked his heart and punctured his right lung, Brooks said.

One man told police the incident was an accident, and the other reported it was not, Brooks said.

Brooks said Tuesday evening Myers was listed in fair condition at the Toledo Hospital.

“He’s very lucky to be alive,” Brooks said.

Copsey is being held at the Seneca County Jail on a charge of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. A cash bond was set at $100,000. He is scheduled to appear in Fostoria Municipal Court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
