Man jailed after family fight
FOSTORIA – A man was charged after a fight among family members at a birthday party Saturday night.
A woman reported a large fight at The Nest, 11315 W. SR 18, at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a report.
Torrence N. Thompson, 34, of Fostoria, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a fifth-degree felony, and disorderly conduct, a minor misdemeanor, law enforcement officials said.
Thompson was taken to Seneca County Jail and was being held on $30,000 cash bond Sunday evening. Charges were pending for other people, a Seneca County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.
The spokesman said a person involved in the altercation deployed pepper spray, and a youth hit by it was taken to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital’s emergency room by a family member. Another youth was assaulted, he said.
A bullet hole was located in a fence, and witnesses stated shots were fired, according to the report. No casings were found, and there was no suspect, the spokesman said.
