6-year-old boy hurt in single-vehicle accident
FOSTORIA – A 6-year-old boy riding a bicycle was injured after he was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon at Ohio and Seneca avenues.
Capt. Patrick Brooks of the Fostoria Police Department said the boy, whose name was not being released, was first transported to Fostoria Community Hospital and then taken by ground ambulance to Toledo
Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle driven by John Miller Jr., 48, of Fostoria.
Brooks said Miller, who reported the accident at 3:43 p.m., had not seen the boy prior to the accident and didn’t know where he came from.
The boy, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident, did not have serious visible injuries and was in stable condition at Fostoria Community Hospital prior to being transferred to Toledo, Brooks said. Police are unsure of any further extensive injuries.
Brooks said no citations have been issued.
