Red Cross helping Alvada family after fire

ALVADA – American Red Cross is aiding an Alvada family following a fire in their home on West CR 10 Monday afternoon. Volunteer disaster responders Steve Switzer and Ruth Stiverson were on the scene of the fire to provide help to the two adults and three children.

Red Cross provided immediate assistance for shelter, food and clothing, as well as comfort kits of personal hygiene items and a disaster clean-up kit.

The organization plans to continue to aid the family as needed and to assist with long-term recovery planning with information, resources and referrals to partner agencies.

Disaster relief is provided free thanks to the generosity people who donate.
