Democrats consider future
Seneca County Democratic Executive Committee failed to meet a quorum Thursday evening, but members discussed issues facing the party moving forward.
The group talked about whether to remove members from the committee who do not regularly attend meetings.
The committee also questioned if there should be fewer meetings. It currently has monthly meetings, but chairman Tom Smathers said the committee should consider reducing that because of low attendance.
Bylaws state the committee is to meet at least four times a year.
Another topic discussed was if the committee should set up a Democratic booth at the Seneca County Fair. Committee member Dean Henry said the money for the booth would be better used by giving it to candidates.
No decisions were made due to lack of a quorum.
