Annual Family Fest still seeking vendors, participants
The 2013 Family Fest is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 6 at Tiffin YMCA. The organizing committee has chosen “Let’s Get Moving Together” as the theme for this year.
Vendors and organizations are being accepted now to participate in the event.
“Right now, we have 15 registrations,” said Melissa Bowers at the Feb. 8 meeting.
The groups registered so far include the YMCA, First Lutheran Pre-school, Kiwanis Club, Seneca Habitat, SCAT, Altrusa, Tiffin-Seneca United Way, CARSA, Optimist Club, Department of Job and Family Services, the Firemen’s Association, Help Me Grow and Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.
The event is listed on www.tiffinohio.org and a Facebook page has been set up to post updates and obtain suggestions from the public. A collection for the FISH Food Pantry is to be set up in the YMCA lobby. WTTF and WTSC are planning to do remote broadcasts, including interviews with participants. Bev Henry has contacted COSI to bring in “Science Spots” for Family Fest.
The room between the two gymnasiums is to have giveaway items available. Other features include a photo booth, raffles, door prizes, demonstrations, mascots, inflatable attractions, Safety City and food sold by the Optimist Club. The committee would like to have more mascots of all kinds, more musical entertainment, more door prize donations and more food vendors.
Students from Heidelberg and Tiffin universities are to help with set-up and other tasks. Paramount Advantage again is a major sponsor for Family Fest. More sponsorships are welcome. For-profit groups can register at a cost of $25 with a table provided. There is no charge for non-profit groups.
The committee is to have its next meeting at noon Feb. 22 at Community Hospice Care, 181 E. Perry St.
