Tiffin office part of ODJFS consolidation

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is to save the state $2 million annually by consolidating 13 offices.

Locally, there are 30 employees at the Tiffin monitoring and consulting office, 668 Miami St., who will move to either downtown Toledo or Lima, said Ben Johnson of Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

Offices in Bridgeport, Canton and Dayton also will have staff sent to other locations.

Consolidation is not to affect in-person services, and only state employees will be moving, Johnson said.

In a press release Thursday, Michael Colbert, ODJFS director, said “the consolidation maintains the agency’s statewide presence without affecting services to individuals or businesses.”

Johnson said while the consolidation could be difficult for some employees, the plan is to save the state money without cutting any services the agency provides.
