Tiffin man charged with assaulting ex

A Tiffin man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence and assaulted her Monday afternoon.

Wesley A. Dirmeyer, 25, faces charges of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, for allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s first-block Circular Street residence around 12:30 p.m. Monday. He then assaulted the woman, causing head and facial injuries.

Sgt. Mark Marquis of the Tiffin Police Department said Dirmeyer, who was arrested Tuesday, had forced his way into the residence after allegedly damaging a window on the front door.

Nothing was taken from the residence, but Dirmeyer allegedly broke a TV before he left.

Two children inside the residence didn’t appear to be involved in the incident, Marquis said.

Marquis said the woman was later taken to the hospital by family members.

Dirmeyer appeared by video Wednesday in Tiffin Municipal Court where his bond was set at $150,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 23.
