Republic council member to leave
REPUBLIC – Republic Mayor Bruce Lambert announced the resignation of Councilwoman Rhonda Wolpert. Council now has the task of replacing Wolpert in the next 30 days or Lambert is authorized to appoint the new member.
Since Wolpert resigned, Lambert is to have new committee assignments at a later meeting.
Village Administrator Crystal Hoepf introduced maintenance worker Travis Gregg. Council approved Gregg’s rate of pay at $11 per hour with a 90-day probationary period. His employment begins Feb. 4.
Councilman Mike Oberlander confirmed Seneca County Commissioner Fred Zoeller is to attend council’s next meeting.
A personnel committee meeting is at 7 p.m. today to update policies for new employees.
In other business:
Members approved paying the bills and dealt with legislation.
Adopted a resolution authorizing the village to enter into a mutual aid contract with Bloomville for additional police protection and authorizing the mayor to execute the agreement.
Adopted by emergency measure to amend the pay rate of the fiscal officer, chief of police and village administrator with a 4 percent increase.
Adopted the 2013 Ohio Basic Code.
Heard the first reading of an ordinance for approval of the council rules of procedure.
Council’s next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
