Police may have solved business break-ins

A Tiffin man was arrested Tuesday after alleged stolen property was found in a West Market Street residence.

Darryl G. Bright II, 29, was arrested after a search warrant revealed property allegedly stolen from area businesses, according to a release from the Tiffin Police Department.

Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens said Bright, who faces multiple counts of breaking and entering, is believed to be connected to several business break-ins reported in the past several weeks.

“Darryl Bright II became a suspect through the investigative efforts of Lt. Mark Marquis and Officer Gary McClure” stated Detective Sgt. Jason Windsor of the Tiffin Police Department in the release. “Their work gave detectives the vital information they needed to obtain a search warrant in this case.”

Stevens said Bright previously had been convicted of breaking and entering and receiving stolen property. He was released from prison in October.

“That’s approximately the time we were getting an uptick in break-ins,” Stevens said.

He said Bright is believed to be the only suspect in the break-ins.

According to the release, the Seneca County Drug Task Force-METRICH Enforcement Unit assisted Tiffin police in executing the search warrant.
