Lakota looks to advance tax cash

LAKOTA – The Lakota Board of Education approved the need of a tax advance Monday evening.

The treasurer of the Lakota school district has been authorized to go ahead with a plan to request Sandusky, Seneca and Wood County Auditors to advance taxes from the proceeds of the tax levies to help meet current expenses. The period of the tax advance would run through Dec. 31.

The school board also swore in Chris Chalfin as president of the board and Barb Lehmann as vice president.

In other matters, the board:

Appointed Fred Keith as OSBA legislative liaison for 2013.

Appointed Kurt Brewer as OSBA alternate delegate to annual conference for 2013.

Appointed Tim Woodruff as the student achievement/student athletics representative for 2013.
