Peg Carrick, owner of Backroads Diner, said her homemade coconut cream pies top the list, but other homemade pies include apple, cherry and banana split. All the pies, she said, are made from scratch. "People are just glad you don't dump a can of fruit into a crust," Carrick said. "Everything is homemade. We peel the apples for an apple pie and I make all the crust.
