Regional artist to speak Saturday at Fostoria gallery

FOSTORIA – Wesley Memorial Gallery in Fostoria is the site of an exhibition by Bowling Green artist Emanual Enriquez. The 26 pieces include photos, paintings and a maquette sculpture, “Three Women.” They are to be on display through March 31. In addition, the artist is to give a lecture in “walking tour” format at the gallery at 3 p.m. Saturday. A reception is to follow. (The inclement weather date is March 28.)

Enriquez graduated in 1978 from Bowling Green State University with a major in painting, followed by a fine arts degree in 2000 with emphasis on bronze and stone sculptures.

Visitors may have spotted the artist’s sculpture at a Toledo Mud Hens game. Enriquez plans to bring a maquette of the sculpture he created for Fifth Third Field to display during his talk. He has exhibited at venues in Ohio and Michigan and received multiple awards.

The Wesley Gallery, 1200 Van Buren St., Fostoria, is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. For more information, call (419) 435-8551.
