Tiffin reports

A man went to the station Wednesday afternoon to report someone took belongings from his first-block Main Street residence while he was in jail.

A 100-block Cherry Street woman reported Wednesday afternoon someone stole gas from her vehicle overnight.

A vehicle break-in was reported Wednesday evening in the 100 block of Wentz Street. A purse was taken.

A first-block Minerva Street caller reported Thursday morning tail lights were broken out of three vehicles.

County reports

A vending machine in the 2000 block of South SR 231 was reported broken into Wednesday afternoon.

A juvenile reported Wednesday evening their intoxicated uncle shoved them down stairs in the 5000 block of South SR 100. The uncle then left the residence. Deputies were unable to locate the juvenile.

A burglar alarm sounded early Thursday morning at South Side Drive Thru and Carry-Out, 12520 W. Hissong St. The Fostoria Police Department arrived at the business before deputies and found the front door had been damaged. A police canine was utilized at the scene to try to locate tracks.

Fostoria reports

A caller reported Wednesday afternoon a man took a bicycle from the 1500 block of North Countyline Street. The bicycle was located.

A caller reported Wednesday afternoon a boy was shooting kids with an air soft gun at City Park.

A woman reported Wednesday night her wallet and keys were taken from a residence in the 1200 block of Beier Drive.

A 700-block Lynn Street woman reported Wednesday night a man jumped in front of her vehicle and yelled profanities at her as she was leaving her residence.

A disturbance was reported early Thursday morning at a residence at North Union and West Jackson streets. According to the report, a woman was yelling at her 17-year-old son, who had vomited on the porch of the residence and didn’t want to clean it up.

A report of credit card misuse was forwarded to the police department Thursday morning.

Juan F. Hernandez, 62, of Fostoria, was charged with retaining property Thursday morning after a woman reported a man stole her bicycle. The woman said the man was currently inside of a restaurant in the 1100 block of North Countyline Street.

A man in the 600 block of Northview Drive reported Thursday morning his work truck was broken into and a phone, change and his lunch pail were taken.

An 800-block Eastern Avenue man reported Thursday morning a grill and utensils were stolen and a cover was removed from his lawnmower.

A 200-block North Countyline Street man reported Thursday morning his neighbors were stealing his cable.

State Patrol

Arvil McClanahan 35, of Tiffin, was cited with failure to control after a one-vehicle accident Wednesday evening at US 224 and SR 587. He was transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital with minor injuries.


Bascom fire and EMS and the Echo unit were called to an accident Wednesday evening at US 224 and SR 587.

Tiffin Fire Rescue Division was called to 300 S. Monroe St. Wednesday evening for a false alarm.

Tiffin Fire Rescue Division was called to 154 S. Washington St. Thursday morning for an alarm system that sounded due to a malfunction.


Tiffin Fire Rescue Division had five squad runs Wednesday afternoon, three squad runs Wednesday night, one squad run early Thursday morning and one squad run Wednesday morning.
