Tiffin reports

Donald E. Schulte, 18, of Defiance, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle for an incident Jan. 22.

Renee L. Poindexter, 39, of Tipp City, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle Thursday.

A caller reported Friday morning several flag holders were stolen from grave sites in the 700 block of South Washington Street.

A juvenile was arrested Friday afternoon after a caller from North Central Academy, 928 W. Market St., reported a student assaulted another student.

A vehicle break-in was reported Friday afternoon in the first block of Grand Avenue. Items were taken from the vehicle.

County reports

A break-in was reported Thursday afternoon in the 8000 block of West CR 10.

Steven G. Smith, 59, of Tiffin, was charged with disorderly conduct and persistent disorderly conduct Thursday.

A caller reported Friday morning numerous vehicles were vandalized in the 2000 block of West CR 26.

Fostoria reports

John Fritz, 34, of Fostoria, was charged with dog-at-large Tuesday.

A 300-block Starr Avenue woman reported Thursday night a man was in her driveway making threats to her.

A first-block Christopher Drive woman reported a scam Friday morning.

A caller reported Friday afternoon a woman broke out a window in a 100 block Sandusky Street residence Friday afternoon.

State Patrol

A single-vehicle accident was reported Friday afternoon on South SR 587, just south of TR 112. The vehicle had struck a pole, according to Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports. One person was transported to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.


Tiffin firefighters were called to 11 Grace St. Thursday evening for a natural gas leak.

NBS fire, New Riegel EMS and McCutchenville fire were called to a barn fire Thursday night on West CR 6. NBS firefighter Jim Kelbley said the fire was small and was contained quickly.

McCutchenville firefighters were called to a tile fire Friday afternoon on West CR 6.

Bascom fire and EMS and the Echo unit were called to an accident Friday afternoon on South SR 587.


Tiffin EMS had three squad runs Thursday evening, one squad run Thursday night and two squad runs Friday morning.

Sycamore fire had a squad run Thursday evening.

Green Springs fire and EMS had a squad run early Friday morning.

Bloomville fire and EMS, Attica-Venice-Reed fire and the Echo unit had a squad run Friday afternoon.
