Terra State nursing pinning ceremony honors graduates
FREMONT — Seventeen Terra State Community College Nursing Program graduates participated in the fall 2017 Pinning Ceremony.
Students who participated in the ceremony included Ryan Montgomery of Bellevue; Kami Garcia and Melissa Weber of Fostoria; Katie Crowell, Ana Majia Hilario, Melissa Weber and Kaylie Winn of Fremont; Melinda Gosche of Kansas; Kelly Armbrecht of Norwalk; Rachel Hyde of Oak Harbor; Joel Eis of Perrysburg; Morgan Beck of Port Clinton; Britani Young of Republic; Natalie Dillman of Sandusky; Brittany Armbruster and Kassandra Welly of Tiffin; and Tearra Harris of Toledo.
Terra State receives funding
FREMONT — Terra State Community College has been awarded a Regionally Aligned Priorities Delivering Skills grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
RAPIDS grants are used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for use in learning laboratories specific to regional workforce needs.
Terra State is to receive $98,658.
Terra is to use the funds to purchase an education training CERT Package from Material Handling. The package includes a collaborative robot with mate controllers and software.
The new teaching equipment is to be scheduled to be delivered in the spring.
BEREA, Ky. — Lydia Bauler of Carey received a bachelor’s degree from Berea College.
Locals perform in piano recital
FINDLAY — Students recently performed in a fall piano recital at the University of Findlay.
Local students who performed include Sydney Berlekamp of Tiffin and Mykayla Ruffing of Attica.
