Clyde student named to athletic organization

ASHLAND – Paula Wollenslegel of Clyde is a member of Ashland University’s Athletic Training Organization.

Wollenslegel is a 2015 graduate of Clyde High School.

Tiffin native joins math club

ASHLAND – Aaron Arnold of Tiffin is a member of Ashland University’s Math Club.

Arnold is a 2015 graduate of Columbian High School.

Tiffin native to travel abroad for university concert

WESTERVILLE – The Otterbein University Concert Choir is to travel to Germany in December.

The choir, under the direction of Gayle Walker, is to depart Monday. The tour repertoire is to feature holiday works rooted in German tradition, including masterworks, carol arrangements, spirituals and works by Bach, Brahms, Chilcott and Gibbs.

Local students traveling to Germany include Wyatt Price of Tiffin.

Terra State names Schumacher senior VP

FREMONT – Terra State Community College announced Ron Schumacher, previous member of the Governing Board of Trustees, has been appointed to senior vice president.

In the role, Schumacher is to lead the Terra College Foundation and establish Terra State’s return to Intercollegiate Athletics.

Schumacher is the senior director of facilities and support services for Mercy Health, serving Tiffin, Willard and Defiance hospitals. Prior to his role, Schumacher served as vice president for advancement and public affairs at Tiffin University, where he doubled the annual fund in three-years to $1.5 million, increased employee giving from 47 percent to 96 percent and developed and implemented the university’s first grants office that had over $8 million in pending grant requests.

North Central Academy Board is to meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at North Central Ohio Educational Service Center campus, 928 W. Market St.

BC board to meet

NEW WASHINGTON – Buckeye Central Board of Education is to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the school, 938 S. Kibler St.

Middle school students of the month

Tiffin Middle School Students of the Month for November include Salah Price, Bobby Cantrell, Jessica Herron, Grant Terry, Aricka Fisher, Miranda Fisher, Abigail Hoppes, Ty Smith, Kenadie Sherman, Logan Lewis, Anna Sherwood and Cole Newlove.

Teens to create light-up cards for holidays

The teen department at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host Craftastic for teens 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Frost Kalnow Room of the library, 77 Jefferson St.

Teens in grades 6-12 are to learn about circuits while creating a light-up holiday card.

T-SPL TAB to meet

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library’s teen department is to host a Teen Advisory Board meeting 4-5 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Frost Kalnow Room of the library, 77 Jefferson St.

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join the group to help in choosing teen activities at the library, suggest books, movies, music and games for the library to purchase.

Readers to gather

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host A Gathering of Readers at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Frost Kalnow Room of the library, 77 Jefferson St.

Members of local book groups, as well as anyone who enjoys reading, are invited to come together for an evening to celebrate reading.

Be prepared to discuss a book that you are thankful to have read this year – good or bad. A white elephant book exchange also is to take place; please wrap a book from home and bring it along.

Everyone is to leave with a new book.

‘Elf’ contest at T-SPL

The junior department at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host an Elf on a Library Shelf contest throughout the month of December.

Every day through Dec. 19, children ages 3-13 are invited to find the Elf on a Shelf, then fill out an entry form.

Correct answers are to be entered to win a board game. Patrons may enter once per day.

Build with Legos at T-SPL

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host Lego Saturday 1-3 p.m. Dec. 23 in the Frost Kalnow Room of the library, located at 77 Jefferson St.

Children and families of all ages are invited to build their own Lego creations. The library is to provide Duplo Block for children ages 2-4 and Legos for ages 4 and up.

The theme for December is gifts.

T-SPL to host juried Lego contest

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library’s junior department is to host a Lego Contest at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 in the Frost Kalnow Room of the library, 77 Jefferson St.

Children, ages four and older are to be judged the day of the event. Registration is through Jan 5.

On the day of the contest, participants are to bring their Lego creation to the library to be put on display and judged.
