Knitting, crocheting program at T-SPL

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host Open Knitting (and Crocheting!) 1:30-3:30 p.m. March 5, 12, 19 and 26 in the Junior Home Room, 77 Jefferson St.

Participants are to bring questions, discussion topics, knitting projects and are asked to bring their own yarn, needles and project.

Teens to work on craft for community read event

The teen department at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host Craftastic for teens at 3:30 p.m. March 9 in the Frost Kalnow Room, 77 Jefferson St.

As part of this year’s Community Read, teens in grades 6-12 are to decorate and plant edible plants with the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center.

T-SPL to host March 7 language program

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host Bouncing Babies at 10 a.m. March 7 in the Frost Kalnow room or at 6:30 p.m. in the Junior Home room, 77 Jefferson St.

The program features stories, rhymes, songs and finger plays.

Parents or caregivers and babies, age birth to 18 months old are asked to sign up for one session of language enrichment activities.

OGT dates announced

FOSTORIA – Former students who need to pass the Ohio Graduation Test and have completed all other graduation requirements are to make arrangements in advance with the Fostoria Junior/Senior High School.

Testing dates are offered at 8 a.m. March 6-17.

V-S orientation dates announced

Vanguard-Sentinel Adult Basic and Literacy Education program offers free ABLE classes to help adults improve their reading, math or writing skills, to prepare for the GED test and to get ready for college or an adult certificate training program.

Students, in order to enroll in classes, are required to attend an two-hour orientation to set goals, complete placement testing and develop an individualized learning plan.

The orientation dates are:

• 9 a.m. March 27 and 29 and at 5 p.m. March 28 and 30 at the Fremont Vanguard Adult Workforce Development Center.

• 8:30 a.m. March 20 and 21 and at 5 p.m. March 21 and 22 at Sentinel Career and Technology Center.

• 9 a.m. March 15 and 16 at Fostoria Junior/Senior High School.

• 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays at Clyde Public Library.

Miami University graduate

OXFORD – Caitlin Stahl of Fostoria was among 3,000 students from Miami University who received degrees during fall commencement Dec. 13.

Stahl earned a bachelor of science degree in social work.

Scholarship opportunities announced

Sandusky County Communities Foundation has announced applications now are being accepted for the St. Francis Care Center Foundation of Green Springs Scholarships.

Scholarships are awarded to students who reside in Sandusky County, who are currently enrolled and have completed one year in health care associate program or a minimum of two years in a health care bachelor or graduate degree program; have a minimum 3.0 GPA, participated in community service or extracurricular activity during the past year.

Deadline for scholarship applications is June 1.
