Terra to offer instant enrollment

FREMONT – Terra State Community College is to offer Instant Enrollment days.

The fall semester is set to begin Aug. 20.

The college is to offer “All-in-one-day” events 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday and Aug. 21.

The event days are designed to make the enrollment process more convenient. Students are to be able to complete the COMPASS placement test, CORE orientation, meet with an academic adviser and register.

The college also is to be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 16 for students to use services such as admissions, advising, records, registration, financial aid, cashier, testing center, help desk and library.

Terra partners with Trainco for CDL

FREMONT – Terra State Community College now is to offer Commercial Drivers License truck training in conjunction with Trainco Inc. Truck Driving Schools.

Students in the fast track, non-credit program are to learn the skills needed to take the CDL.

Each session includes 140 hours of training. The first day of classes is Aug. 25 with the first night class Sept. 15. The cost to attend is $3,995.

Northwestern Ohio dean’s list

LIMA – Matthew Hill of Fremont has been named to the 2014 spring semester dean’s list for University of Northwestern Ohio.

H-L graduate earns scholarship

Ryan Depinet of Bascom has been named the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from the Gleaner Life Insurance Society.

Depinet is the son of Linda and David Depinet. He also is a 2014 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School.
