Bike to work day set

The North Central Ohio Regional Council of Governments and the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center are encouraging community members to participate in National Bike to School/Work Day Wednesday.

Sgt. Kathleen M. Wolf

Sgt. Kathleen M. Wolf recently graduated from the Naval School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, also known as the U.S. Army’s “bomb squad.” For the past year, Wolf underwent training at Fort Lee, Va., and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. She is to report to Fort Lewis, Washington, to continue her training.

EOD technicians are the Army’s preeminent tactical and technical explosives experts, responsible for handling all forms of dangerous ordnance. EOD soldiers defuse bombs, handle sensitive detection equipment and set explosives.

Wolf has served eight years in the U.S. Army including serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan. While there, she earned a Combat Action Badge and Basic Aircrew Member Badge.

She is the daughter of Chuck and Peggy Wolf of Tiffin.
