Area cattlemen present at Beef Expo
MARYSVILLE – The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association hosted the inaugural Best of the Buckeye show at the Ohio Beef Expo March 16 during the junior show. The Best of the Buckeye program is coordinated by OCA in conjunction with the Ohio Beef Expo and Ohio State Fair.
The program recognizes top Ohio bred, born and registered calves, along with the breeder and exhibitor, in each breed division at the two shows.
Area winners include:
Third Overall Angus Heifer exhibitor Molly Brodman of Carey. Breeder is John King of Tiffin.
Reserve Champion Hereford Heifer exhibitor Allie Steiner of Lebanon. Breeder is King.
Reserve Champion High Perecent Maine-Anjou Heifer exhibitor Austin Hunker of Bellevue. Breeder is Jacob Ruffing of Republic.
Old Fort cemetery clean up set
The annual clean up for the Pleasant Township Cemetery in Old Fort is to be at 9 a.m. May 3. Those helping should bring their own tools. May 10 is the raindate.
Scrapbooking for mothers
The Tiffin Mothers of Preschoolers and MOMs-next are to host a Scrapbooking Crop 9 a.m.-9 p.m. May 3 at First Baptist Church, 419 Coe. St.
Cost to attend is $30 per person, which includes lunch and dinner, door prizes, goodie bags, snacks and drinks, make-n-takes, and full table for scrapbooking or crafting.
Registration forms are
to be turned in to the Tiffin Community YMCA by Friday.
Optimist breakfast planned
Tiffin Optimist Club is to host the Ron Meyers Optimist Club Breakfast 8 a.m.-noon April 27 at the Junior Fair Building in the Seneca County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $6, children 3-12 and senior citizens are $4 and kids younger than 3 are free.
Proceeds are to support youth programs and community service projects for the club.
