Athletes to host fundraiser/dinner
FOSTORIA – St. Wendelin Catholic School’s Mohawk Club is to host a spaghetti dinner 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 18.
The dinner is in order to raise funds for future projects benefiting the student athletes and athletic department.
Cost for tickets is $8 and for children 13 years old and younger, $6. Tickets can be purchased from any student athlete or at the parish or school office.
Tickets also are to be sold after all masses at St. Wendelin Parish May 3-4. The last day to buy tickets is May 9.
The dinner is to consist of homemade spaghetti, breadsticks, dessert and a drink. Patrons can dine-in or carry-out.

NR finance committee to meet
NEW RIEGEL – The New Riegel Local Schools Audit/Financial Committee is to meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the library/media center at the school, located at 44 N. Perry St., New Riegel.
SWCD to offer teacher summer workshop
The Seneca Soil & Water Conservation District is offer the workshop Environmental Awareness and Resources for Teaching Harmony (EARTH) June 17 and 18 at Wynford Local Schools located, at 3300 Holmes Center Road, Bucyrus.
The theme is “Digging In” to Real Science.
The program features hands-on sessions, free items, field trips, Make It Take It time, and snacks and meals.
Cost is $55 if paid by May 21.
Graduate credit also is offered from Ashland University for an additional $200.

Open enrollment to start at TCS
Tiffin City Schools is accepting inter-district open enrollment applications for the 2014-15 school year.
Applications for inter-district open enrollment students are available at the Tiffin City Schools’ Administration Office, 244 S. Monroe St. Applications can be mailed by calling (419) 447-2515.
Students that have already been in the district through open enrollment have to re-apply. Placement depends on class size and receipt of the completed applications. Parents are to be notified of acceptance in June.

Open enrollment to begin at Lakota
KANSAS – Lakota Local School District is to participate in the open enrollment program for the 2014-15 school year.
Application forms are available at the schools’ district office. Completed applications are to be accepted Thursday through May 31.

Washington school explores ecology
April 17, kindergarten and first grade students from Washington K-1 Elementary School participated in the COSI On Wheels presentation “Exploring Ecology.”
During the session, students learned how animals use camouflage to survive in their habitat, explored animal’s life cycles, and studied the impact of changes to plants and animals.
The presentation was brought to Washington by the Elementary PTO.
