Elmwood at The Shawhan clears survey
During a recent survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Health, Elmwood at The Shawhan was found to be deficiency-free. This annual survey measures the facility against all rules and regulations imposed by the state to govern assisted living communities.
The survey found Elmwood to be in compliance in all areas of the provision of care and services, skilled nursing, resident rights, dining services, activities, building and maintenance, and personnel requirements.
“This is a result of hard work and open lines of communication between residents, families and staff. In order to accomplish this, everyone must have a common focus,” Teresa Jones, executive director, stated in a release.
In an unrelated survey, Elmwood at The Shawhan scored above the state average in overall resident satisfaction.
The Ohio Department of Aging surveyed 11,000 residents across the state to determine their level of satisfaction with their assisted living providers. The results, released Feb. 25, showed assisted living residents have a 92.3 average satisfaction score. This average score is based on a top score of 100. Elmwood at The Shawhan had an average score of 92.8.
Located in downtown Tiffin, Elmwood at The Shawhan offers 24-hour nursing, long- and short-term stays, memory care, activities and restaurant-style dining.
