T-SPL receives donation for genealogy dept.

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library has received a sizable donation towards the purchase of a digital film scanner for the genealogy department.

Sharon and Ron Lucas, Seneca County residents, gifted the money to improve research methods for genealogists at the library. With the donation, the library purchased a Minolta SL 1000 Digital Film Scanner that is available for use now.

The scanner gives patrons the capability to scan microfilm images and print, save or email the information. The scanner can edit images, enhance sharpness, enlarge and has the ability to scan a whole newspaper page on one 8 1/2 x 11″ paper.

The library hopes the purchase is to make genealogy research easier and increase efficiency of staff members.
