TCS program committee to meet

The Tiffin City Board of Education’s Program Committee is to meet at 4 p.m. Monday at the Administration Building, 244 S. Monroe St.

Lakota board to meet

KANSAS – The Lakota Local School Board of Education is to meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the school, 5200 CR 13.

NCA board to meet

The North Central Academy Board is to meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, 928 W. Market St.

BC board to meet

NEW WASHINGTON – The Buckeye Central Board of Educcation is to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the school, 938 S. Kibler St.

After the meeting, the board is to go into executive session to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee or official.

Meet Superintendent Wheatley

Tiffin City Schools is to have an informal meet and greet with Superintendent Vicki Wheatley 5:30-7 p.m. Feb. 17 and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at Bailiwicks Coffee Co.

Students of the month at TMS

Tiffin Middle School has announced the students of the month for December and January.

The students for December are Drake DeVore, Cara Brown, Emily Sikora, Alexander Smith, Nick Krajewski, Caitlyn Metlick, Jordan Recker, Ava Sarka, Samantha Hepp, Hayden Klett, Lexia Ziegler and Jacob Warnement; and for January were Chloe Mack, Madison Lemons, Kallen Pierce, Zachary Cornett, Madison Haubert, Carly Poe, Aurora Szablewski, Kaia Treadway, Emily Yoder, Ariana Santos, Mykah Johnson and Marci Stevens.

TCS has new buses

Just before Christmas break, Tiffin City Schools transportation department took possession of two new 56-passenger school buses that have been outfitted with district equipment and put into service when classes resumed in January.

Students riding buses 1, 2, 3 and 10 should look for their number on a magnetic sign next to the door. The numbers on the front, rear and driver side of the bus will not match the rider’s bus number.

Motorists are reminded to obey the flashing red lights on a stopped school bus, that indicates automobiles must stop for the safety of the students. Since December, 12 vehciles have passed buses stopped to pick up and discharge.

TSC to offer scholarship program

Tractor Supply Co. has announced the second annual Growing Scholars program in partnership with the National FFA Foundation.

The Growing Scholars program is supported nationally by Tractor Supply and Del’s Feed & Farm Supply stores Friday through Feb. 23.

Customers can donate $1 or more at store registers during the checkout process to support local FFA chapters and their members. Ninety percent of funds raised through Tractor Supply’s Growing Scholars program is to fund scholarships for FFA members and the remaining is to go to benifit FFA organizations.

To be eligible for the scholarship program, students have to be FFA members and either high school seniors or a freshman, sophomore or junior college student seeking a two- or four-year degree or other specialized training program.
