Fostoria hospital offers screenings

FOSTORIA – ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital’s Wellness department is offering healthy heart screenings 6-9 a.m. Feb. 13 in Conference Center A , on the hospital’s lower level, entrance 2.

Screenings are to consist of free blood pressure and blood sugar checks. Cholesterol screenings are to include a coronary risk profile, which is comprised of cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol plus triglycerides, for $15. Individuals should not eat 12 hours prior to the screening, to receive the most accurate results.

Advance registration is not required.

FCH offers diabetes class

FOSTORIA – To help individuals successfully manage diabetes, the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital diabetes education department is to offer a class 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Conference Center, on the hospital’s lower level, entrance 2. A physician referral is required to participate in the class.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that can be maintained through healthy lifestyle choices and medication. Through this class, individuals can learn about the disease, treatments, monitoring the ABCs of diabetes and preventing severe complications.

The course has a fee billable to insurance and advance registration is required for attendance.

Financial assistance is available through ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation’s Diabetes Fund.
