Audit and financial committee to meet

NEW RIEGEL – The New Riegel Board of Education has scheduled an audit and financial committee meting at 7 p.m. Monday in the library at the school, 44 N. Perry St.

TCS board to meet

The Tiffin City Board of Education is to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tiffin Middle School cafetorium, 103 Shepherd Drive.

OF board to meet for special session

OLD FORT – The Old Fort Board of Education is to have a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the school to discuss employment of personnel.

Board action is to be taken.

Old Fort school board to have community meeting

OLD FORT – The Old Fort Board of Education is to have a community meeting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the high school library to discuss the future of the district.

NR reschedules board meeting

NEW RIEGEL New Riegel Board of Education meeting has been rescheduled from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 10 at the school, 44 N. Perry St.

TCS receives clean audit award

COLUMBUS – Auditor of State Dave Yost has announced Tiffin City Schools has been awarded the Auditor of State Award for clean audit reports.

Local students place in writing contest

Local students who placed in the Power of the Pen District Tournament include:

Seventh graders Alex Miller of Carey placed third, Collin Hoepf of Carey placed 10th, Ariel Hollins of Tiffin placed 13th, Taryn Bahanan of Tiffin placed 14th, and Eli Ward of Fostoria placed 15th.

Eighth graders Jennifer Scholl of Tiffin placed seventh and Shane Souders of Fostoria placed tenth.

Overall, Tiffin Middle School seventh graders placed third and Fostoria Middle School placed fourth.

Agency on Aging to offer scholarship opportunities

The Ohio District 5Area Agency on Aging Inc. has announced several scholarships available for sophomores, age 18 and over, in an accredited technical school, college or university for the 2014-15 academic year.

Available are six grants for $1,000 each and one scholarship for $2,500.

Deadline for all applications is April 1.
