DeWine sues 2 local firms

FREMONT — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is suing Clyde-based Buckeye Impact Group and Tiffin-based Premier Design Group.

According to a release from DeWine’s office, the two telemarketing groups are accused of running a work-from-home scheme, misleading consumers and failing to deliver promised services.

The lawsuit, according to the release, seeks consumers’ reimbursement and for any law violations to stop.

The lawsuit accuses them of selling websites and marketing packages they claimed would allow people to work from home and make $1,000 to $1,500 a month as an Amazon affiliate. They allegedly said the consumer would receive a cut of the sale when someone visited the website and bought an item, and Amazon would ship the item and take care of billing.

The investigation found the websites did not qualify for an Amazon program or generate income, the release states.
