Roselawn delivers meals, caters

Southern cooking and homemade goodness are on the menu at Roselawn Manor Catering & Brown Bag Lunches.

Debbra Alabaugh, who runs the business with her husband, Orville, said they formerly ran the Roselawn Manor Tea Room, and started Roselawn Manor Catering & Brown Bag Lunches because they felt there was a “need for other foods to be delivered” than the typical options.

Food delivered by Roselawn, she said, is freshly made with “premium grade products,” including slow-roasted cuts of the best meat and high-quality deli meats. She said ingredients are purchased locally.

Roselawn Manor Catering & Brown Bag Lunches began serving customers Sept. 8, Alabaugh said, and business has been “growing every day.”

Alabaugh said she is known for her carrot cake and shredded grilled pork sandwiches, and both items are on the Roselawn menu.

She said the menu varies by month and offers choices ranging from lunch sandwich platters to dinner platters, soups, sides and desserts. She said some customers have opted to order dinners to be delivered at lunchtime, which they take home to serve for dinner. Sandwich platters include chips and a pickle, she said, and the soups are homemade every day.

The changing menu ensures variety for customers, Alabaugh said, but certain items are available every day. Super all-beef hot dogs, brats, chef salads, and shredded chicken sandwiches can be ordered every day, she said, and can be tailored to the taste of each customer. Other menu choices vary by day of the week.

Delivery is available Monday through Thursday 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and same-day and advance orders are available. Same-day smaller or individual orders are taken until 12:45 p.m., she said. Larger orders should be placed at least one day in advance.

The delivery charge is $2 per location, not by the number of meals ordered, she said.

Roselawn offers free delivery to seniors, and Alabaugh said the portions in Roselawn’s meals often are adequate for lunch and dinner for seniors.

Alabaugh said prices are $5.99 for a lunch platter, $6.99 for a dinner platter, and the pricing for sides and desserts vary per item. All preparation is done in the Alabaughs’ kitchen, she said, which always has received a 100 percent health department rating.

She said Roselawn provides catering for up to 100 people.
