Superior Auto plans Tiffin store
Local car shoppers are to have a new option this fall when looking to purchase a vehicle.
Superior Auto, a used-car company with 48 locations in three states, is to open in early November, said Lauren Cleaver, corporate recruiter for the company. The dealership is to be located at the former Buckeye Kitchen and Bath building, 2525 W. Market St.
Opening in Tiffin, she said, was a good fit for Superior Auto, which tends to focus on “markets that are smaller towns.” She said the company has locations in Bowling Green, Lima, Napoleon, Van Wert and other Ohio towns.
Superior Auto sells vehicles that are 8 to 10 years old with 100,000 miles, she said. She said each dealership tailors its inventory to the community in which its located, whether the focus is on trucks or minivans.
Cleaver said if a customer is looking for a vehicle that’s not on the local lot, chances are good it can be located in the company’s inventory of 13,000 vehicles and brought to the local dealership.
Tiffin’s new location likely is to start with a blanket inventory and revise future stock based on customer needs, she said.
She said the company is hiring for the dealership, which is to employ a manager, a detailer/light mechanic and an account representative. Cleaver said a manager from Bowling Green’s Superior Auto is to be overseeing the Tiffin location, and the other two positions will be new hires. The Tiffin dealership also will have a manager-in-training, she said.
Tiffin’s Superior Auto is to be open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Extended hours are to be offered during tax season, she said.
In-house financing is offered by Superior Auto, she said, making it “easier to get approved” for loans at the dealership.
“We help people with bad credit,” Cleaver said.
