Kelsey Ann Smathers and Scott Thomas Parker exchanged wedding vows at 1:30 p.m. July 9, 2016, at St. Augustine Church in Napoleon, with Father Doug Garand officiating. A reception followed at The Armory Arts and Events Center.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas Smathers of Columbus and Denise Smathers of Tiffin. The groom is the son of Tom and Jenny Parker of Napoleon.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory lace gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, ball-gown styling and a chapel-length train. The back was accented with ivory beads that descended the length of the gown. She also wore an elbow-length veil edged with beading and carried a bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and baby’s breath.
Bridesmaids wore navy blue, floor-length dresses and carried bouquets of ivory gerbera daisies and hydrangeas.
Matron of honor was Jena (Distel) Busold of Columbus, friend of the bride. Maid of honor was Amanda Somers of Columbus, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Madison Parker of Napoleon, sister of the groom; Katie (Heil) Frey of Napoleon, friend of the bride; Amila (Uppal) Herbert of Cincinnati, friend of the bride; Sara (Sudlow) Frank of Graniteville, South Carolina, friend of the bride; Julie Kneip of Kenosha, Wisconsin, friend of the bride; and Kim Smathers of Belleville, Illinois, sister-in-law of the bride.
Flower girl was Peyton Michaels, cousin of the groom.
Best man was Todd Small of Athens, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Patt Small of Columbus, cousin of the groom; Tommy Smathers of Miami, Florida, brother of the bride; Kyle Smathers of Belleville, Illinois, brother of the bride; Mitch Houts of Napoleon, friend of the groom; Joel Frey of Napoleon, friend of the groom; Corey Dietrich of Napoleon, friend of the groom; and Nick Fruchey of Napoleon, friend of the groom.
Ring bearers were J.J. Frey and Cooper Dietrich, friends of the bride and groom.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and a 2009 graduate of The Ohio State University, is an English teacher at Grove City High School.
The groom graduated in 2006 from Napoleon High School and 2011 from Bowling Green State University. He is employed at Nisource in Columbus as a supply chain analyst.
The couple reside in Grove City after returning from their honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
