Karlyn Elizabeth Whaley and Reid Eugene Kagy exchanged wedding vows at 3:30 p.m. March 22, 2014, at Bloomville United Church of Christ. The Rev. Cathy Wirth officiated the double-ring service. A reception followed at the Masters Building, Wyandot County Fairgrounds, Upper Sandusky.
The bride is the daughter of Kimberly Kiehl of Fairfax, Virginia. The groom is the son of Deb and Troy Kagy of Bloomville.
The bride, given in marriage by her mother, wore an ivory Casablanca Couture gown of beaded lace over silky satin and duchess silk with a gray satin waistband, accented by a pearl and diamond jeweled brooch. The front neckline and the hemline, including the four foot train, were finished in scalloped lace. Her veil was paired with a jeweled hairpiece. She carried a bouquet of white roses, accented with lavender, green hypericum berries and rhinestones.
The bridesmaids wore Jasmine floor-length gowns in eggplant. The strapless gowns had a lace bodice with a ruched waist and a flowing skirt.
Natalee Vance of Hilliard and Lindsay Watson of Raleigh, North Carolina, served as Karlyn’s matrons-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Seas of Westerville, Jessica Saunders of Grove City, Ally Tunitis of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Lindsey Mayfield of Dublin, all friends of the bride, and Taylor Kagy of Bloomville, and Falynne Hoyda of Tiffin, both sisters of the groom.
Emerson Hoyda, niece of the groom, and Kayla Whaley, niece of the bride, served as flower girls.
Ethan Kagy, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Brady Decker and Spencer Williams, both of Tiffin, Josh Smith of Sandusky, Jeff Weber of Findlay, Aaron Banks and Jake Peacock, both of Columbus, all friends of the groom, and Jim Hoyda of Tiffin, brother-in-law of the groom. Ring bearers were Owen Hoyda, nephew of the groom, and Parker Ribic, friend of the bride.
The bride, a 2007 graduate of Dublin Coffman High School, graduated from Columbus State University in 2010. She is employed as a nanny.
The groom, a 2007 graduate of Columbian High School, graduated in 2012 from The Ohio State University. He is a strength and conditioning coach with the University of Cincinnati.
Honoring the bride with a miscellaneous shower were Natalee Vance and Lindsay Watson in January.
A rehearsal dinner was at M.J. Mugsy’s, Upper Sandusky. After a honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple reside in Cold Spring, Kentucky.
