Emily Gilbert and Todd Brown exchanged wedding vows at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 24, 2013, in the backyard of their rural home. The Rev. Michael Malcosky was officiant during the double-ring service. A reception followed at the home.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Teresa Gilbert of Fostoria.
The bridegroom is the son of Todd and Theresa Brown of Fostoria.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a slim-fitted ivory Allure gown. The all-over lace gown featured a scooped neckline and off-the-shoulder cap sleeves, a V-shaped back and a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of white gerber daisies, pastel purple shasta daisies and lavender.
Erin Gilbert was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Hossler and Erica Adkins, both of Tiffin, Cortney Hatzinger of Blossvale, N.Y., and Jami Fruth of Luckey. They wore different styles of purple satin knee-length gowns by Alfred Angelo and carried bouquets made of three white gerber daisies tied with purple bows.
Addilyn Kovach, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.
Steve Burris of Carey was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Steyer and Austin Davidson, both of Tiffin, and Dustin Reinhart of Fostoria.
The bride, a 2011 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School, attends Owens Community College’s radiography program and works as a waitress at Bob Evans.
The bridegroom graduated in 2010 from Hopewell-Loudon High School and works as an heating, ventilation and air conditioning apprentice for Campbell Inc., Northwood.
Honoring the bride with miscellaneous showers were her aunts, Cheri Brown and Patti Brown, and her sister, Erin Gilbert, in July 2013 and Brittany Kovach, Rachel Brown, Sarah Brown and Teri Brown, also in July 2013.
A rehearsal barbecue was in the backyard of the home of the groom’s aunt and uncle, Steve and Denise Brown.
The couple resides in rural Fostoria following a honeymoon trip to Palm Beach, Aruba.
