Jessica Allgyre and Derek Childers exchanged wedding vows at 2:30 p.m. April 13, 2013, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Columbus. Deacon Joseph Schermer was officiant during the double-ring service. A reception followed at The Boat House at Confluence Park, Columbus.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Allgyre of Attica.
The bridegroom is the son of James Childers and Sally Case of Jackson.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a strapless, corset-style back, ivory gown embellished with beaded and sequined lace and tulle leading into a full, gently gathered A-line skirt featuring scalloped edging along the sweetheart neckline and bottom hem. Her headpiece was a flower with a pearl and crystal barouche in the center along with a sheer, cathedral-length veil. She carried a bouquet of pale pink peonies, large white garden roses, ranunculus, tulips and dendrobium orchids.
Kimberly Smith of Perrysburg was her sister’s matron of honor and Jacqueline Allgyre of Columbus was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jill Burkholder of Republic, Kathy Kistler of Tiffin, Jessica Smith of Sandusky and Tonya Mahl of Lexington, Ky. They wore sangria-colored chiffon strapless, floor-length gowns with a sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical gathers at the natural waist. They carried bouquets of dendrobium orchids and white peonies with loops of bear grass.
Addisson Smith of Perrysburg, niece and goddaughter of the bride, and Abigail Fritz of Indianapolis, cousin and goddaughter of the bride, were the flower girls.
Daniel Case of Jackson was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Michael Mocek and Nicholas Smith, both of Perrysburg, Patrick Boothe of Arlington, Va., Christopher Allgyre of Attica and Randall Phillips of Columbus.
The bride, a 2003 graduate of Seneca East High School, graduated in 2008 from The Ohio State University with a degree in fashion merchandising and technical design. She works as a visual manager at Macy’s, Columbus.
The bridegroom graduated in 2001 from Jackson High School and in 2005 from The Ohio State University with a degree in criminology. He is a store manager at Best Buy, Columbus.
Honoring the bride with a shower in March 2013 were her sisters and bridesmaids. A rehearsal dinner was at Bucca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant, Worthington.
The couple resides in Columbus following a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
