Carey church plans pie sale
CAREY – The Our Lady of Consolation volunteer bakery is celebrating summer by offering fruit pies at a special price during its sale July 30-31.
The pies include apple, Dutch apple, peach, peach with crumb topping, grape, Fruit of the Field, cherry rhubarb, rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb and blueberry.
Other items to be for sale include pizzas, breads, breakfast treats, cookies and homemade noodles. Pies, pizzas and breads are sold frozen, with baking instructions included.
The sale is 4-7 p.m. July 30 and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 31 in the information booth across from the OLC Basilica
Proceeds are to benefit the OLC School heating and air-conditioning system.
The volunteer bakery is under the direction of the Rev. Paul Faroh.
Quartet to perform today
The Fisherman Quartet gospel group is to perform at Tiffin Freewill Baptist Church, 129 8th Ave., at 6 p.m. today.

Youth mission in spotlight
West Independence United Methodist Church invites the public to join in a celebration of a mission trip to South Dakota by the church’s youth, to take place during the 9 a.m. service Sunday.
It will be in conjunction with the “Tell Your Story” summer sermon series.
