When life hands you a lemon tree | Advertiser-Tribune A friend who passed away a couple of years ago would always give me some Meyer lemons when she received a shipment from California. In memory of Joyce, I bought a small tree last summer, and although it has not flowered or fruited yet, it is about 18 inches tall and I have hopes for a lemon next year. Planted in a container that can be brought into the house in the winter, the lemon tree needs plenty of light, some fertilizer and regular watering.
