An open house celebration of the partnership between Seneca County Park District and Fostoria’s Geary Family YMCA is planned 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Fruth Outdoor Center, SR 18, between Bascom and Fostoria.
The park is to be open for public nature programs scheduled through Program Director Linda Rose, as well as for youth sports leagues and other activities through the YMCA.
The park is at 10130 W. SR 18.
Zonta Landing public boat livery opens May 24-26 to begin its season. The livery is open 1-7 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through Sept. 1 on days with good weather conditions.
The livery provides rentals of canoes, kayaks and pedal boats at Findlay’s Riverside Park. Rentals are taken first-come, first-served. Canoes and kayaks also may be taken by the renter to other bodies of water within Hancock County with a reservation.
Equipment rates for canoes, kayaks and pedal boats are $5 per half-hour or $25 per day. Group outings using six or more watercrafts are $20 per day. Fees include life jackets, paddles and sales tax.

A Viewing the Night Sky program is planned 9 p.m. May 24 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 SR 598, Leesville.
Join members of Richland Astronomical Society and Crawford Park District volunteers as they share knowledge and telescope skills with anyone interested in celestial sights. Participants may provide their own telescope or allow volunteers to assist with those provided.
