Park Programs, June 7

Seneca County

A Track & Trail program, “Research in the Preserve,” is to take place 1-4 p.m. June 14 at Steyer Nature Preserve for ages 12-17.

Teens can learn to key out plants and trees for easy identification, explore what lives under logs, rocks and creeks, and discover how data is kept and why research is important. A light snack will be provided.

Steyer is at Abbott’s Bridge on CR 33, east of Fort Seneca.

Sandusky County

A Movie in the Park is set for about 9 p.m. June 14 at White Star Park barn, 5013 CR 65, Gibsonburg.

Bring blankets and chairs to sit and watch free family movies outdoors on a 16-foot inflatable screen.

Hancock County

The 62nd season of Riverside Summer Concert Series begins Wednesday with Night Jazz.

Performances start at 7:30 Wednesday evenings in the Allen P. Dudley Memorial Band Shell and Dick Daughterty Plaza.

Other concerts include Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus June 19; Napoleon Community Band June 26; Findlay Civic Concert Band July 3, 10 and 17; Jack Taylor Quartet with Lori Lefevre Johnson and The 6th Edition July 24; Pantasia Steel Drum Band July 31; Jericho Road Aug. 7; and Findlay Civic Jazz Aug. 14. Aug. 21 will be a rain date.

Crawford County

Crawford Club Lions Club recycling takes place 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Lowe-Volk Park, Bucyrus.

Proceeds benefit Friends of the Crawford Park District.

“Ohio Spiderworts & More” is a program set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Daughmer Savannah State Nature Preserve, 786 Marion Melmore Road.

Join naturalist Josh Dyer for a leisurely stroll to take a look at early bloomers, rain or shine.
