Next TAG exhibition a cross to bear

Tiffin Art Guild is making a call for artists to enter its next art exhibition.

The exhibition, “Crosses,” is to challenge artist to create a cross, either three-dimensional or flat, in any medium of their choice, according to Jill Groves, TAG treasurer.

There are countless designs from simple to complex that can be represented, she said.

All work must be original. There is a $20 entry fee for TAG members and $30 for non-members. All two-dimensional work is to be matted or mounted and framed with glass or Plexiglas and may be no larger than 60 united inches. Frames are to be securely wired for hanging. No two-dimensional entries are to be accepted with sawtooth or one-hole hangers. 3-D entries are to be no taller than four feet and not weigh more than 50 pounds.

Art work is to be dropped off noon-4 p.m. March 2-3 at the gallery, 130 S. Washington St.

“Our members like a challenge,” Groves said.

Previous shows the art guild have shown have been the Black and White show, Barn Quilts and the photography show.

“We are just excited to be able to display art and bring it to the community,” Groves said. “We hope more people come to our events and get more involved.”

The opening reception is to take place 4-6 p.m. March 10, with the award ceremony at 5 p.m. The exhibition is to continue through April 7.

Awards are $75 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.
