Program covers eye matters

The next meeting of the International Low Vision Support Group is 10:30-11:30 a.m. today at St. Francis Home, 182 St. Francis Ave. Visually-impaired senior adults are invited to participate.

The topic for the July program is “20 Things Eye Doctors Probably Don’t Tell You (But Would Like You to Know).” There is no charge to attend.

Wednesday is Senior Day

The Seneca County Commission on Aging is inviting area seniors to Senior Day 2014 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Somerset Center, 382 S. Huron St. The free event with “The Far Out ’60s” theme includes a 1960s costume contest, photo booth, lunch, door prizes, vendor displays and entertainment.

Summer produce for sale

The next Farmers’ Market and sidewalk sale in Tiffin is slated 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday on Washington Street between East Market and East Perry streets.

Produce, baked goods, honey and other local products are to be sold.

Civil War speaker coming

Bob Minton of Fostoria is to give a program at 1 p.m. Saturday at the American Civil War Museum of Ohio, 217 S. Washington St.

The historian and re-enactor is to discuss “Behind the Scenes of ‘The Light of Freedom.'” Minton had an acting role in the film about the Underground Railroad.

FACT plans golf outing

Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment is to have its annual golf outing Sunday at Loudon Meadows Golf Course in Fostoria. In addition to golf, there will be door prizes, raffles and a silent auction.

All money raised at this event is to be used to help Seneca County residents who are dealing with cancer-related challenges.
