Educational seminar offered at St. Francis

St. Francis Senior Ministries is to host a “Big & Loud” educational seminar at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose room at St. Francis Home, 182 St. Francis Avenue in Tiffin. “Big & Loud” is a program for those with Parkinson’s disease, and participants learn to exaggerate their movement and speech. The St. Francis therapy team is to present the free program and participants also are to be able to tour the new therapy area at St. Francis. Refreshments are to be served. Hayes Center to host AARP event in Fremont

FREMONT – AARP Ohio is to sponsor a tour of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Spiegel Grove Squires vintage base ball club is to compete with the Clodbusters Base Ball Club in 1860s style. This event is free, but registration is required by Thursday. New exhibit up at gallery in Fostoria

FOSTORIA – Wesley Memorial Gallery is hosting an exhibit by artists from the Gaslight Gallery in Findlay through July 31. The exhibit includes paintings, photography, pottery, wire weaving and quilting. The featured artists include Lisa Adams, Steven Belmont, Jeanne Beuler, Janealla Killebrew, Helen Kutscher, Teresa Lambert, Kristan Lantosh, John Maguire, Dick Overman, Roger Powell and William Wilson.

The gallery is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Van Buren Ave., Fostoria. The Gaslight Gallery is an artists’ cooperative open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday.

Hospice training to begin July 1

Tee off for FACT

Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment is to have its annual golf outing July 13 at Loudon Meadows Golf Course in Fostoria. In addition to golf, door prizes, raffles and a silent auction are planned. All money raised at this event is to be used to help Seneca County residents who are dealing with cancer-related challenges.
