Donations needed for infant, family
Jo Ann Sarver and other local volunteers staged a garage sale and “diaper drive” Saturday to help a Tiffin family, Tessa and Cole Bryant, after Tessa gave birth to a girl Feb. 4.
The baby, Raven Elizabeth, arrived 12 weeks earlier than expected, though.
Her tiny size (less than 2 pounds) and under-developed organs required her to be transferred to a Level 3 neo-natal intensive care unit at a hospital in Toledo. Her parents have been driving back and forth to be with her.
“We got a lot of preemie clothes and eight packs of diapers,” Sarver said.
Tom and Sherri Ferstler of Tiffin are the grandparents. The Bryants also have a little boy, Damien, who needs diapers, as well.
Donations still are being accepted for the two children and for the parents to cover travel and lodging expenses.
Sarver also is conducting an online raffle the rest of this month at $1 per ticket. The prizes include a crocheted baby blanket, pot holders, jewelry, Scentsy gifts and other items.
“I am also still collecting newborn and size 6 diapers, newborn little girls clothes, wipes, gas cards and cash,” Sarver said.
