Center offers multiple trips
The Allen Eiry Center has scheduled trips for 2014. Travel coordinator Sara Wax is to give a presentation at 1 p.m. Friday at the center, 28 Hopewell Ave., with an overview of the choices. Some are day trips while others take multiple days. All are open to non-members. The major excursions are listed below.
Coming March 17 is a St. Patty’s Day trip to Scioto Downs Racino in Columbus. A bus is to leave at 8 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. The cost is $30 payable at sign-up. Each traveler is to receive $20 for free play and $5 for food.
May 5-7 brings a trip to the Holland Tulip Festival. The cost is $439 per person for double-occupancy room, to be paid in full with registration.
Indiana Amish Country is the destination for July 15-17 to view Das Dutchman Quilt Gardens and visit the Shipshewana Flea Market. The cost is $499 for double occupancy. A $100 deposit per person is due May 9 with final payment due June 9.
Travel to Amishlands in Pennsylvania Aug. 18-20 for a performance of “Moses” at Millennium Theatre and a stop at Hershey’s Chocolate World. The cost is $459 per person for double occupancy. Pay in full with registration.
Experience the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Oct. 2-8 in New Mexico. Participants would spend a night in Chicago and board Amtrak the following day to Albuquerque. The cost is $2,839 for double occupancy. Make a deposit of $500 and make final payment Aug. 29.
Celebrate a “Red, White and Blue Musical Christmas” Dec. 2-5 in Cincinnati. View light displays and enjoy the sounds of the season. Other stops are planned. The cost is $689 per person for double occupancy. The deposit is $150 with final payment due Oct. 31.
