Benefit to aid March for Life
ATTICA – Sunday, a March for Life dinner is set at Our Lady of Hope Social Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds are to go to area youth attending the March for Life in Washington, D.C., Jan. 22.
Menu includes swiss steak or ham, potato, corn or beans, applesauce, dinner roll, dessert, coffee and lemonade. The cost is $9.
The event is sponsored by Attica Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Hope Rosary Altar Society. The location is Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 320 Stump Pike Road, Attica.

Food can slow heart disease
FREMONT – “Ending the Heart Disease Epidemic” is to be presented 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fremont Middle School.
Giving the program are Caldwell Esselstyn Jr. and his wife, Ann Esselstyn. A board-certified physician, Esselstyn has been with the Cleveland Clinic since 1968. He is the author of “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease,” which describes patients who reduced atherosclerosis with a plant-based diet. His wife contributed recipes for the second half of the book.

Rail Park to open Friday
FOSTORIA – A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony are planned at the new Fostoria Rail Park at 3 p.m. Friday.
Parking is available at the Davis & Newcomer Building, 420 Columbus Ave. After the ceremony, a reception is to take place until 5 p.m. at the BANKquet Hall at the corner of Main and Tiffin streets.

Dinner, auction to benefit CROP
St. John’s United Church of Christ, 10 Main St., is to host a Hunger Dinner and Auction at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the fellowship hall at the church. The event is an extension of the Nov. 3 CROP Walk in Tiffin.
The Rev. Pam Easterday said many items have been donated for the auction, and donations for CROP are to be accepted in lieu of a dinner fee.
One-fourth of the local proceeds are to be given to the Sharing Kitchen, FISH Food Pantry and The Salvation Army. The rest is to be sent to Church World Service to feed needy children all over the world.

Food to be distributed
The Knights of Columbus Council 608 of Tiffin and St. Francis Gaspar Council 10749 of New Riegel, in cooperation with the West Ohio Food Bank, have scheduled a food giveaway for any needy individuals in the area.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Nov. 23, about 20,000 pounds of food is to be distributed on the east parking lot at the Tiffin Council, 49 E. Perry St. The food is free and available to anyone, regardless of income.
