Area house tour to benefit school

CAREY – Four homes, a gift shop and the public library are to open their doors for a Christmas Home Tour 3-8 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $10, and the proceeds are to benefit Our Lady of Consolation School.

The 1875 Federal brick home of Larry and Rosalyn Dible, 909 W. Findlay St., is to be decorated mainly in country style with a collection of more than 1,000 Santas.

A Christmas village and Swarovski ornaments are featured in the 2005 brick ranch home of Steve Orians, 422 Magnolia Lane.

Casey and Ginny Roynon have placed Christmas trees throughout their five-bedroom Craftsman home at 593 Fairlane Drive.

The home of Bob and Joyce Jacoby is a turn-of-the century row house at 212 S. Patterson St. It is to have a large Nativity set and a doll house Bob crafted among the decorations.

The Jacobys also have opened a new gift shop, Lily’s Cottage, that is to be included in the house tour. The former home at 219 S. Patterson St. features a Regal Angels/Art Gallery, a Raggedy Ann room, tea room and a year-round Christmas room.

Built in 1906, the Dorcas Carey Public Library, 236 E. Findlay St., is to be adorned with handmade decorations. Punch and cookies are to be served in the lower level.

Tickets for the tour can be purchased now at the school, O’Flaherty’s Marathon, The Gray Mare or at any of the homes the day of the tour.
