Habitat seeking applications

Joe Swora, executive director of Seneca Habitat for Humanity, is accepting applications for homes from all interested families. Applicants are evaluated by a committee of volunteers who look at each candidate’s housing needs, income and debt levels, family situation and willingness to build the home if approved (“sweat equity”).

Completed homes are energy-efficient, completely electric, three or four bedroom in size, come with appliances and feature zero-interest mortgages. A Habitat home is meant to provide a safe, decent and affordable living environment at a lower cost of living.

Seneca Habitat is in its 27th year of operation in Tiffin and Seneca County as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. The agency has built 43 homes and is completing its 44th.
