Raffle winner to get research on family tree
The Seneca County Genealogical Society is offering its third annual raffle for “Who Do You Think You Are – Seneca County.” Tickets are for sale for a chance to have a committee research the winner’s genealogy and present its findings.
The drawing is to take place June 4.
Jane Wagner won the 2012 raffle, and the society presented her “Who Do You Think You Are Seneca County” program at the October meeting.
Becky Hill and Steve Frank of Tiffin and Ronald Gase of the Netherlands, along with other society members, pulled together stories and facts on Wagner’s family, which included a War of 1812 spy, tailors, fruit farmers, grocers, sailors, Indian traders, trappers, Civil War soldiers, World War I soldiers, cartoonists and balloonists.
Tickets are $5 each, six for $25 or 10 for $40. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any genealogical society member or by calling Jerry or Bev Wheatley at (419) 447-9628.
The society’s website, www.senecasearchers.org, has been updated with current information.
