Eight pianists, eighty fingers April 21

FINDLAY — St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church sanctuary is to present 80 Fingers of Praise at 7:30 p.m. April 21 at the church building, 120 W. Sandusky St.

The concert is to feature eight piano players performing ragtime, classical, patriotic, hymn tunes and original music.

Pianists are Ann Cramer, Julie Baughman, Barbara Dysinger, Kelly Lewis, Shirley Nebergall, Bev Roby, Jim Scothorn and Mark Willeke.

Star Players plan ‘Little Mermaid’ as summer musical; tryouts April 28-29

UPPER SANDUSKY — The Star Players are to produce Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” as their 2018 summer musical.

The production is to take place June 29-July 1, 5, 7 and 8.

The production is to be directed and choreographed by Tina Pritchard with Reid Barth as music director. The story is based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and animated Disney films.

Auditions are to take place April 28-29 at the theater, 121 W. Wyandot Ave.

Those auditioning are to bring 16-31 bars of a prepared song not from the musical. An accompanist is to be provided, or they may sing a capella.

Bluegrass bands to take stage in Clyde

CLYDE — Volume Five, a bluegrass band, and The Ottawa County Bluegrass Band are to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clyde High School Auditorium, 1015 Race St.

Volume Five has been honored with two International Bluegrass Music Association 2017 awards — “Emerging Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for the song “I Am A Drifter.”

‘Clean Comedy Show’ April 20

Tickets are for sale for the “Clean Comedy Show” at 7:30 p.m. April 20 at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St.

Father Joshua Wagner is to return to Tiffin from Columbus as the opening act. Wagner’s presentation uses humor, scriptural reflection and theological insight.

Headlining is clean comedienne Leslie Norris Townsend of Celina. She provides a blend of stand-up comedy, music and audience participation.
