Get in Christmas spirit this weekend in Clyde
CLYDE — This weekend marks the 41st year for the Winesburg Christmas Weekend, set to kick off Friday. The events are to continue through Sunday.
The Northern Lights Parade, which begins a mile south of downtown Clyde on Main Street, is to start at 6 p.m. Saturday. Those waiting for Santa Claus’ arrival can watch the city tree lighting in downtown and visit vendors. A fireworks display is to start at 7 p.m.
Traditional Winesburg Weekend events are to return, such as children’s parties featuring a princess Friday and superheroes Sunday. The Santa Breakfast also is to be back Saturday at Main Street Cafe. Reservations can be made by calling (419) 765-9146.
Also, Doebel’s Flowers and Greenhouse is to host a free petting zoo. During the three-day event, the Masonic Lodge is to host a model train display. Children’s movies, the annual Gingerbread Man Storytime at Clyde Public Library, and entertainment at the Clyde Museum and McPherson House all are set for Saturday.
Two craft shows are to take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church and Clyde VFW.
Firelands Regional Medical Center is to sponsor free horse-and-trolley rides Saturday and Sunday. Riders are to load near the Santa House on Main Street in downtown.
