SYCAMORE – Sycamore United Methodist Church is having a social starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 211 N. Sycamore Ave., Sycamore.

‘Avenue Q’ returns
FINDLAY – Fort Findlay Playhouse is bringing back “Avenue Q” for additional performances at 8 p.m. today through Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday at 300 W. Sandusky St., Findlay.

Veterans home to host Civil War camp
SANDUSKY – The Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is the site of a Civil War encampment this weekend. “Prisoners and Pirates” is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
This free event features Civil War-period music by the 73rd OVI Regiment Band, drills, artillery, demonstrations and speakers on topics such as the Confederate attempt to free prisoners at Johnson’s Island.

‘Shawshank’ marks 20th anniversary
Events and tours related to the filming of “Shawshank Redemption” are to take place Aug. 29-31 in Ashland, Mansfield and Upper Sandusky. This is the 20th anniversary of the film.
